The Corner Ballpark

After years of debate about what to do with the former Detroit Tigers Stadium site, city youth can now play baseball, football and soccer at the historic Corktown location.

CCC, in partnership with Tooles Group served as the Construction Manager on the new 20,000 square feet multi-sport youth complex with an athletic/training program with year round outdoor athletic amenities and with a full restoration of the historic Tiger Stadium’s playing field surface. The $11.3-million PAL headquarters is an L-shaped structure along Cochrane and Michigan Avenues that partially encloses the historic former home of the Detroit Tigers. The new stadium includes the Detroit Police Athletic League’s (PAL) first permanent headquarters, the Willie Horton Field of Dreams, 2,500 seat capacity, a banquet facility/leadership center, dugouts, locker rooms, storage space for sports gear and more. Detroit PAL is programming a variety of sports on the field, including baseball, softball, T-ball, coach pitch, football, cheer, soccer, basketball, golf, track & field and volley ball.
