Commercial Contracting Corporation was selected as the Structural Steel contractor for Subaru North America’s new Research and Development Center in Van Buren Township, Michigan. The new 56,054 SF building includes office areas, dynamometer laboratories, test benches, storage areas, cafeteria and social spaces.
The steel erection was performed over two months and consisted of 500 tons of structural steel. Structural Steel included wide flange columns and beams, wind girts, cross bracing, framed openings for mechanical and HVAC pipe, duct penetrations, bent plate edge angles at roof framing for parapet walls, roof drain steel frame and drain sump pan, moment connections, steel joists and joist girders, steel floor deck, steel roof deck and metal fabrications.
CCC was the Construction Manager on this project which consisted of more than 500 tons of structural steel.
