Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC) was hired as the Civil Contractor for the Marathon Martinez Refinery Renewable Fuels Project in Pacheco, California. The project was executed in 3 concurrent phases from 2022-2023.

Located near Oakland, California, the repurposing of the existing refinery facility to produce fuels made from renewable sources such as rendered fats, soybean and corn oil includes new pretreatment unit and stage one wastewater treatment units, converting 29 tanks from petroleum to renewables, a new thermal oxidizer for sour water stripper, revamping multiple stages of the hydrocracker and hydrodesulfurization units, adding multiple hoses, pipes and pipelines and modifications to the marine terminal.

CCC’s scope of work includes excavation, installation of 1.3 Million lbs. of rebar and 10,138 cubic yards of foundations and paving concrete work. Upon completion, the plant produces renewable LPG, Naphtha and Diesel fuels.
