How would you describe your job?
Submittals, RFI’s, managing drawings, meeting minutes, and helping Project Managers with anything else they may need.
What is your favorite part about your job?
The fact that the tasks change on a daily basis. One day is never the same as the last. CCC is a great place to work. It’s not just an employee/employer relationship… Your coworkers really turn into your friends.
Why construction?
I kind of just fell into it. I left a job in accounts receivables and ended up here. I started out as an Office Manager, then moved to Admin Assistant for Estimating, and then Project Engineer for Construction Services. I will be celebrating 23 years in June!
What’s your best memory of working here?
That’s a tough one. Climbing to the top of the Coker at Marathon – even though it was pouring rain and I am scared to death of heights, it was still cool. The friendships I formed on the FCA Sterling Heights Assembly Plant Construction Management Project. The 5K Walk/Runs. The 75th Anniversary party on the Detroit Princess.
What projects have you worked on that you find particularly interesting?
The Coker job at Marathon was interesting because I was on it from start to finish. It was so cool to see nothing on the ground to all the steel built up at the end. I got to watch a giant crane lift at DTE Energy’s Blue Water Energy Center, and got to create a “beach” on the Riverfront in Detroit.
What skills are most valuable for this position?
Attention to detail, patience, and communication.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to read, binge TV shows, and hang out with my son.
Do you feel safe, valued, and heard in your role/with the company?
Yes. I feel that all the different teams I have worked with have always had everyone’s best interest at heart. That’s why I have been here for 22 years!
