How would you describe your job?
I am a Senior Project Manager in charge of the “Angle Projects”. We handle many smaller-scale rigging, service, and installation jobs for various customers throughout Michigan.
What is your favorite part about your job?
It keeps me on my toes . I started working with CCC over 20 years ago and still, every day is unique.
Why construction?
I like to interact with people and see the finished product.
How would you describe CCC to someone outside the company?
CCC is a family-based company. It was founded by the Pettibone family and then sold internally to (4) employees and is now an employee-owned company. CCC understands the delicate balance of family and work.
What’s your best memory of working here?
I have so many great memories. I have had the pleasure of working with so many talented and skilled people along the way. But building an auto plant from the ground up and being able to show your kids is a very proud feeling.
What does your typical workday look like?
Every day in the construction world is a new puzzle to solve. I start by making sure everyone that works for me is paid and has the proper tools for the day. Then I capture all the costs from the previous day so the company can get paid. Then I keep planning to stay ahead of the work.
What projects have you worked on that you find particularly interesting?
I spent 8 months living in an old farmhouse in Gas City, Indiana. We were rebuilding a press at the GM Marion Metal Center. It was a new experience living away from my family and it makes you appreciate the little things in life.
What skills are most valuable for this position?
You need to surround yourself with good people. You are only as good as the team around you. Your people skills will play a major role and you will need to be trusted.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love spending time with my wife Kelly and my two boys, Blake and Connor. I also enjoy boating with the neighbors.
Do you feel safe, valued, and heard in your role/with the company?
Yes, I feel safe when I am at work. Everything that we do at CCC starts with safety. As for valued and heard, I feel that my history and loyalty have allowed me to have a trusted voice here at CCC.
