How would you describe your job?
I am a Project Engineer on the Installation Services side at Commercial Contracting Corporation. On a project, I have responsibilities dealing with Document Control, Scheduling, Field Engineering, Financial Management, Safety, and assisting with Project Management.
What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part about this job must be the great people that I work with. The environment feels like family and everyone works together as a team to help one another out. CCC is an incredibly employee-oriented company with owners who truly care.
Why construction?
I grew up around a carpenter dad who always had me helping him with various types of projects. The passion I developed from that continued into a Construction Management Degree, which led me to CCC.
What’s your best memory of working here?
My best memory of working here is probably the 75th anniversary party. CCC rented out the whole Detroit Princess for the night and it was an awesome time!
What does a typical workday look like?
I’m currently working at Factory Zero where we’re installing all the General Assembly Equipment and Tooling to produce GM’s new Hummer EV! A typical workday at this site involves coordination meetings, financial management, and assisting with the project management of the job. This project is one of the most interesting and exciting I’ve ever worked!
What skills are most valuable for this position?
For someone working in my position, or anyone interested in this type of job, I would say the most valuable skills would have to be a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and great communication skills.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I like to remain active by going to the gym and playing sports when I can. I also enjoy hanging out and socializing with my friends, watching sports, gaming, and stock trading.
