CCC Starts Work on MSU Grand Rapids Research Center

Michigan State University (MSU) is expanding their research capabilities in Grand Rapids by constructing a new biomedical research facility on the northwest corner of Monroe Avenue and Michigan Street in the downtown area. This site was the former home of the Grand Rapids Press building. The new construction is of a 160,000-square-foot, multi-story building.

This time-lapsed video shows 25 weeks of construction, starting when the ground was broken on June 18, 2015 to the last beam placed on November 19, 2015. CCC’s Interiors Department was hired to perform cold form exterior framing, interior framing, drywall, insulation, specialty wall panels and acoustical ceilings. We began working on the project two weeks ago, and will work on it for close to a year. The project value for us is $4,088,000.
