CCC has received the 2014 Thomas J. Reynolds Award for excellence in construction safety and health from The Association of Union Contractors (TAUC). This award recognizes member contractors who have achieved a days away, restricted or transferred (DART) rate of 25% or more below the national industry average in a calendar year, or below 1.65 which is 25% below the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) national average of 2.2. In 2014, CCC logged over one million worked hours with a DART rate of 0.00.
This is the third year in a row CCC has received this prestigious award, and this honor is a direct result of our people-based safety program that focuses on a person’s thoughts and attitudes, and motivates employees to actively care about their own safety and the safety of their coworkers. This program has in turn minimized the number of worksite accidents, injuries and illnesses to our employees.
Founded in 1969, TAUC is the premier national trade association for the union construction industry. TAUC members include over 2,500 contractor companies that utilize union labor for their projects, as well as local contractor associations and vendors in the industrial maintenance and construction fields.
