On December 3, 2021, CCC was recognized by CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) in receiving the CREW Special Impact Award. The award comes from the completion and transformation of the Robert C. Valade Park in Detroit, Michigan. At the event, CREW Detroit celebrated their 35th Anniversary with their esteemed members and some incredible projects.
Completed in October 2019, the Robert C. Valade Park project transformed 3.2 acres of former industrial site into an environment anyone can enjoy. With unique and innovative materials and design details, the park is yet another success for the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, helping to transform the shoreline into usable, public space. The Conservancy also received a $50,000 grant for the project from the Gannett/USA Today Network in relation to their initiative, “A Community Thrives.”
The Shed, the hub of the project, features environmentally conscious designs and appliances, helping better thermal efficiency and reduce air pollution levels. Around the construction, carefully thought out features hone in on the Motor City’s background (i.e. benches backed with recycled vintage Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge/RAM tailgates), keeping the spirit of Detroit alive in the new work being done around the city.
