It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bill Pettibone, Chairman of the Board. Bill lost his six year battle with Parkinson’s at the age of 76. Bill graduated from Purdue University as an Industrial Engineer and later attended the Wharton School of Business. Following his studies, he joined the family business, Commercial Contracting Corporation, beginning as a project manager in nuclear power plants in Wisconsin and Florida. He proceeded to advance within CCC and in the late 1980’s, Bill took over the reins of Commercial Contracting Corporation from his father and together with his brother Michael, purchased whole ownership in 1990. Bill and his brother operated the business as equal partners until 2007 when Bill became sole owner of CCC. Upon selling CCC in 2015 to the current ownership team, Bill remained on as Chairman of the Board.
Bill was a tremendous leader and visionary, always seeking new opportunities. He had the foresight to venture into Mexico long before others dared and together with an acquisition of a small general contracting company in 1999, formed the basis for the corporation we have become today. To many of us who had the privilege of knowing him personally, he was much more than a businessman. He was a friend, mentor, father figure and simply, a positive person who could motivate someone on their worst days. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his wife Jane and their family.
